the languages mode shows you a real text sample and asks you to identify the language from four choices. it is a different kind of geography game: less about memorizing a flag, more about learning the visual texture of how the world speaks.
meridian currently has 351 playable languages supported by 171,873 accepted real-world language samples. the broader catalog contains 26,773 catalogued languoids through glottolog's hierarchy, but the playable number is intentionally narrower and more honest.
17 official languages still need more samples from another corpus or source before they can meet the stronger coverage thresholds.
