the short version: homadic stores everything locally on your device and never transmits your personal data anywhere. there are no accounts, no profiles, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers that hold anything about you. uninstalling the app removes all data permanently.
what homadic stores on your device
the following data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage (userdefaults and the app documents directory). none of it is ever sent to rb labs or any third party:
- —vehicle settings — type, tank size, fuel grade, mpg
- —theme preference — light or dark
- —preferred navigation app
- —search radius setting
- —unit preference (miles/kilometers)
- —en-route mode flag
- —frequent stops list
- —eia fuel price cache (a local copy of publicly available data)
- —siri intent flags
- —price history file (price_history.ndjson) in your app documents folder
what gets sent where
homadic makes two types of outbound requests. neither sends any personally identifiable information:
eia fuel price data
homadic fetches publicly available fuel price data from the u.s. energy information administration (eia.gov). the request contains no user identifiers — only a region code derived from your device's locale. the eia receives a standard http request indistinguishable from any browser visit to their public api.
open-meteo weather
homadic fetches weather forecasts from open-meteo.com using your device's current coordinates. open-meteo is a free, open-source weather api that does not require an account and has its own privacy policy. your coordinates are sent only at the moment of the request and are not logged or retained by open-meteo under their stated policy.
what we don't do
- —we do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any contact information
- —we do not run analytics or crash reporting that identifies you
- —we do not sell, share, or license your data to any third party
- —we do not use advertising sdks
- —we do not track your location in the background
- —we do not create a user profile or account of any kind
- —we do not store anything on rb labs servers — we don't have any
data retention & deletion
all data homadic stores persists on your device until one of the following occurs:
- —you uninstall the app — this removes all app data automatically
- —you tap "clear all my data" in settings — this wipes all userdefaults keys and the price history file instantly
- —you restore your device to factory settings
there is no data on our end to delete because we never received any.
gdpr & ccpa
if you are a resident of the european union or the state of california, you have specific rights regarding your personal data. because homadic operates on a fully local architecture, your rights are already satisfied by design:
- —right to know: all data is listed explicitly in this policy. there is nothing else.
- —right to delete: use the clear button in settings or uninstall the app. data is gone immediately.
- —right to opt out of sale: we don't sell data. there is nothing to opt out of.
- —right to opt out of tracking: we don't track. apple's app tracking transparency framework is not triggered.
- —right to portability: your data lives on your device. you already have it.
children
homadic is rated 4+ on the app store. it does not collect any information from users of any age, does not prompt for demographic information, and is safe for all ages.
changes to this policy
if we materially change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the app store release notes. continued use of homadic after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
